Hey #FABSQUAD! Do you love yourself? I’m sure your immediate response is of course I do! Being kind to yourself and taking an active role in protecting your own well-being and happiness, is what self-love aka self-care looks like. It enhances your health and manages your emotions, especially during period of stress.
Here are 3 ways to put in your self-love into practice each day:
Tip #1- Live healthy
- Eating healthy foods, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and avoiding drugs and alcohol are just a few examples. Of course, finding effective ways to manage stress and seeing your health care team for regular check-ups are important too.
Tip #2- Do something enjoyable every day
- That might mean dancing, watching a favorite TV show, working in the garden, painting or reading. The point is to spend time doing an enjoyable activity that is not attached to work or other commitments each day. You will be amazed at how your happiness and satisfaction with life will increase.
Tip #3- Develop supportive relationships
- Consider joining a support group to make new friends. Support groups bring together people who are going through or have gone through similar experiences and share personal feelings and coping strategies. This sense of belonging and support has positive effects for dealing with grief, trauma, career goals, marriage, entrepreneurship, and even parenting.
